Every year, more than 600 people from 30+ countries gather for the Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH). Practitioners, researchers, educators, students, policy makers and community mobilizers from health, humanitarian and other sectors come to share their knowledge and experience and find new ways to work together. The 2019 edition of the CCGH will take place in Ottawa from October 17 to 19 and will examine the theme of “Governance and Global Health: Power, Politics and Justice”.

The 6th Global Health Students and Young Professionals Summit (GHSYPs Summit) is a SYP-led conference that will be held in Ottawa on October 20, 2019. Organized in collaboration with the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH) and the CCGHR SYP Network, this exciting event will focus on “The Challenge of Change – It Starts With Us.”

The CCGHR is proud to offer travel bursaries to attend this year’s CCGH and GHSYPs Summit, both held in Ottawa, Ontario. Financial assistance will increase the accessibility of these two events, allowing more of our member SYPs to benefit from the learning and networking opportunities provided by these important events. Four bursaries will be awarded to eligible CCGHR members to cover the cost of transportation to and from Ottawa, as well as the cost of registration for the two events. Please note that successful applicants will need to cover their own accommodation and meals.

Bursary eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be paying CCGHR student/young professional members at the time of application ($35/year). To become a member or renew >
