CCGHR Students & Young Professionals Network: Call for Blog Submissions

Calling all global health enthusiasts! The Students and Young Professionals Network (SYPN) is now accepting blog post submissions from CCGHR SYP members, CCGHR Student Chapter members, and anyone else with a global health story to share!

This exciting opportunity is part of the SYPN’s broader efforts to strengthen connections between students and early career professionals currently working in global health, as well as those who are interested in engaging with the Canadian global health research community. The SYP blog provides a unique opportunity for student and early career researchers to a) gain exposure and showcase their work publicly; b) develop ideas and share reflections on the most pressing global health issues; c) receive constructive feedback on their writing through our peer review process; and d) engage in meaningful discussions with both emerging and senior global health experts.

The SYP blog platform is aligned with the broader mandate of the CCGHR, which is committed to:

  • strengthening capacities of individuals, institutions and systems in Canada and LMICs to produce and use knowledge
  • speaking as Canada’s voice for global health research
  • building effective, equitable and respectful south-north research partnerships
  • connecting people, ideas and expertise
  • learning from and communicating our work

Audience and scope:

The SYP blog is hosted on the CCGHR website, which serves a diverse network of global health researchers and practitioners, at all career stages. Blog posts could be based on student coursework, fieldwork/practicum experiences, original research, or critical reflections on contemporary issues in global health.

Submission Guidelines:

Submission is open to students and young professionals at any level of study (undergraduate, Masters, PhD, Post-doc). We encourage submissions that draw upon interdisciplinary perspectives, and welcome submissions on range of issues related to global health research and practice. In the spirit of collaboration, co-authored blog posts are encouraged.

Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. To submit an abstract, please fill out the form below. Once our internal review committee reviews your abstract, we will be in touch to invite you to submit a full blog post (typically between 800 – 1000 words), within 2-3 weeks.

Please direct blog inquiries to the SYPN executive at sypn@ccghr.ca with the subject line CCGHR SYPN blog.
