When and where?

The Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research is pleased to present the Global Health Research Learning Forum: Using Knowledge for Program Planning and Implementation. This special one-day event will be held on Saturday, October 30th, 2010 at the Minto Suites Hotel in Ottawa, Canada [ View Map ].

The Day

The Coalition’s annual capacity-building event, the Learning Forum, will allow knowledge users (program planners) and knowledge generators (researchers) to meet and learn from one another about how to interact more effectively. Participants will be able to establish partnerships, network, build capacity in knowledge translation, learn from successful global health knowledge translation case studies, and come away with an abundance of resources.

The objectives for the Learning Forum are:

  • To explore how program planners can access, assess, adapt and apply knowledge in designing programs, including scientific evidence and broader organizational experience;
  • To introduce the principles and practices of knowledge translation;
  • To introduce tools and strategies for organizational learning;
  • To provide an opportunity for program planners and global health researchers to meet and collaborate.

Who should attend?

  • Global health researchers
  • Global health program planners and managers
  • Individuals from governmental and non-governmental organizations
  • Professionals or researchers interested in pursuing global health research projects
  • Undergraduate or graduate level students in a global health related program
