Description:
“The goal of this initiative is to provide funding opportunities for the increasing pool of foreign, biomedical and behavioural scientists, clinical investigators, nurses, and other health professionals with state-of-the-art knowledge of research methods to advance critical issues in global health upon their return to their home countries through behavioural and social sciences research.”
Eligibility:
- Your organization must be from a developing country and may be for-profit or not-for-profit, public or private, units of state and local governments of developing countries, faith-based or community-based.
- As a Principal Investigator you must be from an eligible institution and a) have at least two years of research training experience under an FIC-supported training grant; b) have one year of such D43 training experience coupled with one year of significant, well-documented mentored research experience; c) one year of the NIDA INVEST Fellowship plus one or more years of mentored research; OR d) at least two years of research training experience through the NIH intramural Visiting Fellows Program.

You are asked to first submit a Letter of Intent, describing the envisioned project to Dr. Aron Primack (see address below), after which you may submit a full application (please complete the Grant Application provided in the links below) to the Center for Scientific Review (address below). Deadline:
For the 2007 competition, the submission date for Letters of Intent is August 21st and the application receipt date is September 21st. Please consult with the program’s website to see if these dates change in the future.
