“In 1994 a binational committee was established to administer the newly reinstated AINA Grant-in-Aid program. The committee accepts proposals for awards of $1000.00. Awards are aimed at young investigators, especially graduate students, to provide funding to augment their research.”
Funding may be used for travel, supplies, equipment and services but not for salary or wages.
Eligibility:
There is no specific eligibility criteria, except that you must be involved
in research, either as a young investigator or graduate student. The AINA
encourages applications that focus on the natural and social sciences in
the North.
Specific focus on global health research?
The focus is on natural or social science research in the North, but certainly
Indigenous health research is eligible for this award.
Application Process:

You are asked to submit a proposal to the AINA (see the address below). It
should not be longer than four pages, double-spaced, and should include introduction,
objectives, methodology, proposed use for the award. An estimated budget
should also be provided, and should include other potential and committed
sources and amounts of funding.
Deadline:
February 1, but please check with the AINA to make sure that this hasn’t changed in future years.
