You will earn a training award to help support field research. It’s not to be used to cover tuition fees, but may be held at the same time as other awards.

Description:
“The Ecohealth Training Awards encourage graduate-level students to examine the relationships between the environment, human health, and sustainable development from a holistic perspective through field research.”

Each year the Awards have a specific focus.

Eligibility:

• You must be a Canadian citizen, have landed immigrant status, or be a citizen of a developing country, and be enrolled full-time in a graduate program
• You must be proficient in either English or French, as well as the official language(s) of the country where your research will take place
• You must have an affiliation with the host organization or institute in the country where your research will take place

Application Process:
You must submit a complete application package that includes a cover letter, research proposal, CV, academic transcripts, two letters of reference, as well as other documents. The details about the application process can be found on the Description of the 2007-2008 Competition (Links). Please consult IDRC’s website to ensure that the program is operating during the time period in which you’re planning to apply.

Deadline:
The deadline for the 2007-2008 competition was September 5, 2007, but you should refer to the website for updated information each year.
