Grants of various types are awarded as well as post-doctoral fellowships and Career awards.

Eligibility:

• Grants are generally open to scientists from any country provided that they
• Scientists working together from different disciplines are also strongly encouraged to apply.
• Grants are open to researchers who are studying in the life sciences.
• The principal applicant must be from one of the eligible countries (countries of the European Union or North America).
• Individual researchers are not eligible.

Specific focus on global health?
No, the focus is on life sciences.

Application Process:

• Those who wish to submit an application must first submit a letter of intent online having pre-registered earlier.
• Applications will be judged on their 1) innovative nature; 2) interdisciplinary approach and 3) international or intercontinental nature.
• The principal applicant must work in a laboratory of a non-profit academic institute in a member country.

Deadline:
It is expected that the next call for Research Grants will be made in December of 2008. Please check the website for updated application deadlines.
