Type of Funding:
You will provided with an internship placement, and receive some funding for costs of living.

Description:
Every year there are several different internship opportunities within these different intiatives, which you will be able to find listed on the CSIH website. The number and types of placement offered will differ from year to year.

Eligibility:

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, between the ages of 19 and 40, and available for 6 months
  • You must be in good health and be prepared to make necessary travel and health arrangements
  • You must meet the education and training specifications of the particular internship you are interested in
  • You must have an interest in international issues, and be open to different cultures and situations
  • You must not be receiving any social assistance during your placement

Specific focus on global health research?
This program is a capacity developing initiative. It does not have a specific focus on global health, but you will be able to find health-related placements.

Application Process:
You must email a statement of interest, resume and proof of age and citizenship (or landed immigrant status) to CSIH; whatever you cannot email should be faxed or sent by mail. Please see the Application Details link below.

Deadline:
The deadline is usually late spring, but also can depend on the particular internship position of interest.
