CIHR will provide you with support for doctoral training, including stipends and a yearly research allowance, for a maximum of three years.

Description:
"Doctoral Research Awards are intended to provide special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a doctoral degree in a health related field in Canada or abroad. These candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity."

Eligibility:

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, and be attending graduate school full-time.

No, but if you are planning on engaging in global health research at the doctoral level you are eligible to apply.

Deadline:
The registration deadline (Industry-Partnered awards only) for the 2007 competition is October 13, but this might change in the future.
