Description:
“The Conservation, Food, & Health Foundation was incorporated in 1985 and began making grants in 1986. Its purpose is to assist in the conservation of natural resources, the production and distribution of food, and the improvement and promotion of health in the developing world. Through grants to support research and through targeted grants to help solve specific problems, the Foundation helps build capacity within developing countries in its three areas of interest. The Foundation is especially interested in supporting projects which lead to the transfer of responsibility to the citizens of developing countries for managing and solving their own problems and developing the capacity of local organizations.”

Eligibility:
Your organization must have 501(c)(3) tax exemption or be the equivalent of a 501(c)(3) organization and be able to demonstrate your nonprofit status and charitable purpose.

Application Process:
There is a two-stage application process. You are asked to first submit a short concept application, of no more than two typed pages, as well as a one-page draft budget (translated into US dollars). The requirements for the Concept Paper can be found on the Forms and Instructions page (see below).

If the Foundation deems it appropriate, you will receive an invitation to submit a full proposal. The application information for a full proposal will be sent to you at this time.

Deadline:
Concept papers – may be submitted at any time, but the deadline is January 1 and July 1 for consideration at the May and November meetings of the Foundation.
Full proposals – if invited, the deadlines for full proposals are March 1 and September 1.
